Presentation

By the end of the 19th century, the two cemeteries of Saint-Jean and Saint-Vincent, created after the closure of the medieval Campo Santo cemetery, were already saturated. It was therefore decided in 1886 to open the Grand Cimetière, on a fifteen-hectare plot of land overlooking Boulevard Lamartine. It became the final resting place for a large number of the town's inhabitants, some of whom have distinguished themselves in the town's history. Come and pay your respects!

Departure point: main entrance to the cemetery at the start of Boulevard Lamartine.
