Presentation

Discover the city’s places of justice, from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution. This guided tour explores how the courts operated, how trials were conducted and the different stages of judicial proceedings, culminating in the ultimate sentence: the death penalty.

Along the way, you will also discover several former execution sites located in the heart of the city, reminders of a justice system that has long since disappeared.
