Presentation

In 1959, the City of Orléans, led by Roger Secrétain, bought land from the commune of Saint-Cyr-en-Val and built the new "La Source" district. Thanks to this acquisition, Orléans grew by 718 hectares. The development project in this area was on a massive scale, lasting two decades and seeing the construction of collective housing, administrative buildings and research centres. Even today, "La Source" has a strong identity thanks to its 1960s architecture. Our guide will take you on a stroll through this district between the Lycée Voltaire and the University.
